Bonfire Recruitment are working with a leading specialist engineering company based in Buckinghamshire, to recruit a Strategic Purchaser.

Reporting to the Regional Procurement Manager, this role will be diverse, interesting and rewarding. You will need to be a strong communicator with extensive purchasing experience.
On a day-to-day basis, you will communicate with various parts of the organisation as well as external suppliers.
A large part of your job will also be to:
- Identify and execute KPI projects on Savings, Cash flow and Supplier performance
- Support business growth- or foot print projects
- Global category strategy; savings, supplier consolidation, quality & delivery performance etc.
- Drive SLA implementation
To be considered successful you achieve strong results in savings, quality, logistics, contractual compliance and developing high performance suppliers. You will be the expert in your own category and will be the driver in all tasks with your area of responsibility.
As a person, you have the ability to work in a complex matrix organisation with different agendas as global perspectives and local impact projects. You have a great sense of urgency and are always delivering projects on time even though you must plan and follow up on several team members globally.
Candidate Requirements :
You hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree You have minimum of 3 years of procurement related experience, preferably from a manufacturing industry with an international environment. You must possess strong negotiation and commercial skills and have knowledge in SAP and MS Office and masters English at negotiation level in both verbal and writing. You have excellent skills within communication and negotiation, and you understand and respect cultural differences. You respect and understand the business needs, and take these into consideration in every decision. You must be proactive with a passion for successful results.
Furthermore, you enjoy changing environments, tight deadlines and making situational approaches to your stakeholders. You work structured, prioritises, follows up and executes while you always have an eye open for customers, quality, and results.
