Bonfire Recruitment is proud to be retained in the recruitment of a permanent hands on Project Engineer by its innovative client, a manufacturer of process capital equipment at one of its UK manufacturing sites in Derbyshire, UK.

This superb process engineering manufacturing organisation has received numerous awards that recognise its strong R&D investment and UK manufacturing strategy within the UK and we presently have an opportunity for a hands-on Project Engineer to manage bespoke high value manufacturing products and designs from the R&D project phase through to completion.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Projects Director the purpose of this unique opportunity is to ‘lead’ the project engineering aspect of multiple high value projects (£1m-8m) inclusive of project managing the technical aspects of the projects from the varying disciplines to ensure the product is manufactured on time and to budget.

 

Purpose:

Working closely with process, electrical and other disciplines the employee will be required to work on varying projects depending on the demands of the supplier base at that time. Drawing on previous experience to develop specifications for equipment, necessary calculations and liaising with suppliers to deliver projects which are standard equipment as well as new bespoke projects.
Providing engineering guidance and project management duties. Deliver bespoke pro-jects to time and budget constraints. Assist in development of new projects and products in the heavy industry environment. 

The project engineer is required to handle the internal and external aspects of current and future projects. This will include working with the sales team to assist in develop-ing proposals. Standardising and improving existing designs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of equipment. Ensure the commercial aspects of projects are adhered to, reducing risk and exposure of the company within the project environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Project manage high value manufacturing projects from design phase through to completion
  • Create detailed technical specifications for high value sub-contracts & lead technical discussions with customers and sub-contractors
  •  Develop specifications for equipment, run necessary calculations and liaise with suppliers
  • Provide engineering guidance to manufacturing and develop engineering solutions using 3D CAD software
  • Standardise and improve existing designs to increase efficiency and effectiveness of equipment
  • Liaise with co-workers with regards to project demands and engineering development

 

 

Experience Required:

  • Be a qualified mechanical, chemical or electrical engineer who has demonstrable experience of project managing high value projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Project manage high value manufacturing projects from design phase through to completion
  • Be 3D CAD Literate across a design package such as solidworks / inventor etc
  • Read / write and understand P&ID and electrical schematic drawings
  • Understand ATEX, HAZOP & Process safety
